Head of the Eagle

10/29/11 - On Saturday, October 29 the entire men’s rowing team competed at the Head of the Eagle in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Winning six of the ten events they won medals in, the Maize and Blue dominated the Open 8 and Open 4 events.  Facing competition from Purdue, Grand Valley, Michigan State, MSOE, Dayton, Indiana, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Chicago and Marquette, Michigan won the Open 8 A, Open 8 B, Open 8 C, Open 4 A, Open 4 B, Open 4 C, Men’s Open Single, and Novice 4.  The Wolverines also took medals in the Novice 8 A,  Pictured is the winning Open 8 A crew who posted the fastest time on the course of the day:  David Caldwell, Stephen Lanham, Louis Schaljo, Alex Crawford, Matt McCormick, Frank Sedlar, Riley Hall, Greg Dedow, and coxswain Remi Taibleson.  The Wolverines’ next and final event of the fall will be the Wolverbuck Oar against Ohio State on November 19th.
