The team started off strong at our first competition of the 2023 year in Lewisburg, PA on March 24 at the Bucknell dual regatta. After a long day of travel and unfavorable weather forecasts the Michigan 2V, 3V, 1F and 4V won their duels and brought home the first shirts of the season.

The following weekend the team traveled to Grand Rapids on April 1, to compete in the Lubber’s Cup. It was another strong showing from the Wolverines which resulted in Michigan retaining the team points trophy. The 1V placed third in the Varsity 8+ category. The 2V8+, 3V8+, and 4V8+ competed in the 2nd Varsity 8+ category taking first, second, and fifth, respectively. The team also raced two varsity fours which placed second and third in the Varsity 4+ grand final. From the freshman squad the 1F8+ and 2F8+ took first and second place in the Novice 8+, and the 1F4+ and 2F4+ took first and third place respectively in their category.
