Fall Racing Concludes

November 20, 2022

With the cancellation of Wolverbuck this past Saturday due to extreme temperatures and wind, the 2022 fall racing season has officially come to an end.

For our penultimate race, the team traveled to Indianapolis on November 6 for the Bald Eagle Collegiate Invitational to race against Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue, and Notre Dame along with other teams from across the Midwest. In classic Bald Eagle fashion, the conditions were rough and windy all weekend. The team put out Novice 4+'s and 8+'s and Varsity 4+'s and 8+'s, and even a few Varsity pairs. Our boats were highly competitive in all events; and we came away with the overall team points trophy and brought home a number of medals. However, we found Purdue to be a challenging opponent, with several of our boats earning a silver behind a Purdue boat. We will be working through the winter to remedy that situation in Spring racing.

Now, the team will move indoors onto the ergs with the focus of building fitness, strength and speed until we travel to Gainesville, GA for spring break in late February.
