Purdue Challenge Cup

Indianapolis, IN – The Michigan Men's Rowing Team started the season on the last day of March in Indianapolis. The Team arrived in Indy the day before the regatta to rig and row the course; however, the weather didn't cooperate and the team was able to rig before the freezing rain and snow set in. The following morning the regatta began with several inches of snow on the ground and temperatures near freezing.

Michigan fielded 4 varsity 8's and 2 Novice 8's; the fours were scheduled were cancelled due to the weather. The day started with the first and second Freshman 8 races, which the Wolverines won handily. The Michigan 2V, 3V and 4V also won their respective races, with the 3V and 4V finishing first and second in the 3V race. The final race of the day was the Varsity 8. The Wolverines fell to the Purdue Boilermakers by 3.8 seconds, finishing second.
